ANDREW ROAD HOUSE

The first assignment for this module is to investigate how spaces are created from the making of architectural elements: architectonics - solid, planes, lines and frames.

This project is also o achieve a level of understanding on the works assigned and will be able to apply the idea and concept in the subsequent project. Diagrammatic analysis and models are also in-cooperated to get the background ideation and analysis of the house or building given.

The objectives and result of this projects are

1. Ability to identify architects and their works

2. Ability to ‘diagram’ and analyse architectural work of selected architect

3. Understanding basic architectural compositions of solids, planes, lines and frames.

In a group of 7 to 8 members, we are required to produce a complete set of architectural drawings (scale of 1:150) of the selected house.

My team also presented a small presentation slide that gives the overview of the chosen building.

Our assigned house is No 8, Andrew Road House by Chan Soo Khian.

In a group of 7 to 8 members, we are required to produce a complete set of architectural drawings (scale of 1:150) of the selected house.

The drawings shall be hand drawn and carefully rendered.

- site plan (scale of 1:500)

- floor plans - sections

- elevations - axonometric

- perspective (nts)

The team are also required to investigate and formulate your findings into a set of 10 analysis diagrams and 10 diagrammatic models (8 x 8 x 8 cm).

The models should be precise and informative to express the analysis of the ideas hidden in the project assigned.

The analysis is based on, but not limited to the following:

- organization of form

- organization of space

- circulation and paths-space relationship

- spatial hierarchies - context - elements
